Counselling

I offer short and long term counselling to both adults and young people. I am experienced, qualified therapist offering a warm, caring environment in which to explore any of life’s circumstances. I have worked for several years as a school counsellor, with a well-known bereavement charity, and have my own private practice.

I believe that each life is a unique journey and that we all have the ability to both trap ourselves, and free ourselves. I aim to provide the space in which to explore what is required to be where you need and want to be.

Not all journeys are easy, and not all friends and family can offer the support we need. It can be incredibly beneficial to talk things through to an honest and non-judgemental ear. I am an integrative practitioner and therefore work with each client differently, using a variety of theories; the person centred approach, transactional analysis and CBT all inform and enhance my work as necessary. I am also able to offer working creatively should it be appropriate.

I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling & Psychotherapy. I feel that the key element in being able to work together is the relationship between the counsellor and the client and therefore offer an initial session to see if there is the potential to develop a good working relationship.
