Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy is a clinical technique to treat physical disease or psychological issues through the use of hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is conducted by a licensed hypnotherapist, and can be part of a comprehensive treatment plan. Benefits of hypnotherapy include the absence of side effects, long-term results, and the relaxation experienced during treatment.
During hypnosis, the therapist helps the patient to enter a deep state of relaxation. During this relaxed state, therapeutic goals can be undertaken, such as treating phobias, exploring emotions, and altering detrimental thought patterns.
Hypnotherapy is often used after a patient has been unresponsive to treatment with traditional medical treatment, such as diet or medication.
