Therapeutic MassageTherapeutic massage uses a series of strokes designed to promote physiological effects which can:-
It helps to relax the mind, relieve body tension and improve general well-being. Treatments generally last between 30 minutes and one hour. Maximum benefit is attained with regular weekly or fortnightly treatments. Remedial MassageRemedial massage is quite different to therapeutic massage. It uses less oil and employs different techniques. Remedial massage is usually directed to specific problem areas and involves bones, joints, muscles and ligaments. Techniques are specifically directed and soft tissue manipulation plays an important role in this massage therapy. This treatment works deeper into the muscle and soft tissue of the body and is tailored to the individual's requirements. A treatment plan follows the initial consultation in which the major postural muscles of the body, together with posture and joint alignment, are assessed. Treatments consist of 4 to 6 sessions weekly, each lasting one hour. Monthly maintenance with therapeutic massage should follow.
